joe14 98
The one that chris has got has got plastic floors so should be fine. Best way to make your hutch's last is paint em, lino the floors abit up the side and use littetrays in them. That way no pee gets to the wood. And keep them covered back and sides with a tarp. NETS 11
Ye make your own mines made from inch thick marine ply i got from the skips on building sites, wire on fronts is half inch x half inch square with 4mm thick wire the stuff used as anti vandal screens over windows on council offices etc. most good pigeon suppliers sell it about 40euro a big sheet 5ftx10ft.I painted all the wood inside and out with creso(make sure inside is well dry before putting ferrets in) and i got election posters of the lampposts the 5m thick plastic ones(as lets face it thats all there good for) and used over the ply for floor cleans out a treat, roof if aluminium sheeting.Good solid internal hinges and deadbolts and padlocks sorted.Have this one built 10 years only maintenance it needs is to creso the outside and doors of it every second year and should last a life time. huntmark 18
Be better off building your own from ply. For that money you could easily buy a few sheets of ply and some 2"x2". You only need basic wood work skills to throw it together. Or I'm sure someone you know could help. You can buy wire mesh from most garden centers or have a look around. One thing is make sure you plan it out before you start cutting so you don't make any mistakes. Good luck Quote Link to post

Bebop 0
I was thinking about buying a chicken coop off eBay that holds 6-8 chickens, it's made out of 18ml ply with a really good sized run underneath. Anybody ever had one? Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
Chicken runs a great for the stinkers... But just be careful with the standard chicken wire (Iv learnt the hard way).. My hob just opens up chicken wire and escapes and he anit a big hob just a decent size jill with a bigger head. Worth keeping in mind Quote Link to post
