New experience for new pups

Recommended Posts

Took Tilly out today for her usual walk but decided to walk through the woods outside my house as the shoot were in a different area today .... It proved to be a good idea as she seen a load of different game and nothing phased her ... There were dozens of partridge and pheasant one took off right next to her out of the bracken ... No panick no yelp she just watched it fly off and carried on ... Seen 4 squirrels which instantly flicked her switch and she was off after them ... Got to within 10 meters of a feeding roe again she curiouser but not afraid ... It eventually seen us and took off through the bracken which spooked a hare that ran straight towards us stopping only a few feet from Tilly ... It turned on its arse and took off with Tilly with her nose to ground following through the undergrowth ....

All in all a good walk with loads of new sights and sounds for Tilly to soak up ... I have got to go and live catch some rats tomorrow so that will be another new experience for her .............

Me to mate there is no point leaving them in the kennel ... She will be having a little 20 minuet ferreting session next week to learn all about the different nets ... Education education education ..........

A pup will learn more and become better educated with a few forays like that, its always been the best way to bring a pup on.To many people become confused with starting a pups education and learning young and entering a pup to work which its unready or equipped for.
