Yes mate 21 years ago .... I am now 43

I think the one driving the inflatable was Cookiemonster, might be wrong though..........................

Here's another one for our resident SFs expert; Socks can you tell me why the UK SFs favour the American M16 family assualt rifles over the British army standard SA80? Is it not an admition of infiriority of the SA80? I was always led to believe that the H&K ammended SA80 was a world class assault rifle yet our finest don't see it fit for their work.

The m16 is a far more reliable weapon and has self cleaning parts which helps negate stoppages ... It is longer than the sa80 which is why the mp5 aid preferred for cqb but for reliability and all round use you can't beat the ak family .... just as an aside the m16 and sa80 both use te same ammo 5.56 ...........

are you sure mate because the mk 1 uses the 7.62x51mm rifle! i've just double checked. not having a go or trying to be a dick

Well unless I am a magician mate and can make 7.62 fit into a 5.56 barrel i am pretty sure buddy .......

are you?? i was reading bit about SLR mate my mistake

No worries mate ... Slr was a good sturdy weapon and hit hard lol ... Testament to that is that the support weapon the gpmg Is still in use and is an invaluable weapon system .......

I'd love an SLR if our gun laws was not a f*****g joke!

TBH i just don't like the look of sa80 well the mk1, maybe that because its shit! lol stilll don't understand why we never just used the m16 for all our reg army ?

Aren't the barrel lengths pretty much the same though Socks? I'm sure I read somewhere that the sa80 is one of the most accurate assault rifles in its class used by any armed forces but it's original design put the rifle's accuracy above the need for it to be reliable in all battlefield situations which is why it needed the reengineering.. Is that correct mate?

the old elephant gun (slr) never did work on full auto and was a b*stard for gas stoppages on semi auto even when you turned the gas regulator down to 0 :cray: as socks says for reliability the ak`s are hard to beat and have the stopping power aswell
