lapin2008 1,587
Not personally but there was another thread on it a year or so back, have a search. If I remember right it was something to do with extremes of hormones in some hobs. Sound horrible mind! Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
I used to have a fellar who used to knit all my purse nets. This bloke was f*****g horrible to his old lurcher used to beat the poor fecker with a walking stick. Anyway he said he had a spare ferret for me so i went to his house and he invited me to get one out of a cage. I lifted the lid and there was a fecking horrid smell ..... Anyway because of his lack of feeding animals the ferrets were eating each other! The were skinny as f**k aswell. Needless to say i took my ferret and left and never returned. That is the ONLY time ive ever heard of ferrets eating each other and thats when there underfed..... Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,920
I've had it before but I didn't witness the actual killing so can't say if it was killed intentionally or died naturally but the kit was fine in the morning and half eaten when I got home. Quote Link to post

joe14 98
Ive a few mates this as happened to aswell. But most likley if the ferrets were neutered it wouldnt of happened. Yes people can keep entire hobs and jills together all way round but i wont risk it. Edited October 3, 2012 by joe14 Quote Link to post

Pts the twice it happened here the hobs i found half eaten were in a group of mixed sex ferrets, there was several years between the 2 incidents , i have no idea which ferret were responsible , I dont even know if they were killed or just died & were part eaten in all honesty , I certainly didn't hear anything that indicated there had been a scrap of any kind or any screeching Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
my wifes uncle is the type of guy who needs to have everything and boasts about it. ferrets, chickens, geese, 2 big japanese akitas, 2 pedigree pugskawasaki ninja, focus st. you get the idea. none are remotely looked after. pugs are caged all day. akitas are minging, matted and kenneled 24/7. chuckens and geese are not fed and the ferrets are shameful. he had 3. never fed them. eventually one ate the other 2. roof fell in on the hutch and the remaining ferret got hit by a car. between the hutch and getting run over was probably the best time of that ferrets life.
