weasle 1,119
I remember reading in the edrd mags about field trials,If my memory is right it was a competition done over a week end ferreting, lamping and hunting up,Dog had to be called of a rabbit.Judged by a few lads. Always thought it sounded good crack and a good way of meeting new lads and getting on good ground. Do`s the it still go on?If not why not?Did any one on here used to compete.Any stories? I went and watched one of the trials as a spectator, it was held in Scotland in Blairgowrie and was back in the early 90,s. Cant remember the exact crack, but the dogs were judged on ferreting and hunting up and lamping. I cant remember the exact dogs but S Bartons Rooney ( GSD x Grey ) and Marc H Glens Danny ( Beardie x Grey, and he used to write for EDRD ) were two of them. I remember we had a good crack that weekend. As far as i know it hasn't gone on for years, but i do remember something about one being held in cheshire if anybody can shed any light on it ? Cheers Atb Quote Link to post

Yes tomo saw he`s posts but didn't always have the time or will to try and decipher them,If some one wants to ask him about it and type it out for him id like to read it.Id say if he was the worst person you ever met in life you would have led a very privileged life. 2.8 guy 403
I used to do a fair bit with the nlrc judging the obedience and marshaling on the field trials test, it was good fun but i was only in my 20's then and when the kids came along i packed up going to the shows, at that time they was disagreements in the camp and people left, but it was good fun and i made many good friends jim being one of them im nearly 40 now and to be honest ive forgot most of the rules, i remember the call off being the highest points but dont think anyone tried it lol atb 2.8 1 Quote Link to post
