So my plinking partner Milegajo and I hit the outdoor range today to fine tune our HW95's and Panorama scopes.

I think collectively we put about 500 rounds through the rifles and finally decided the rifles were about as good as they could be without human error.

We moved from 30 yards to 35 yards to 40 yards making sure the figures and stats chairgun pro on my iPhone was spitting out married up to our real life blunderbuses! :rtfm::gunsmilie:

It was at the 35 yard range I was enjoying a well deserved smoke whilst watching Miles continue to off load his .177 pellets into the target when just as I finished he shouted "FLY".

I quickly picked up my loaded rifle and whilst prone watched the little beggar sitting dead still on the top right of the bisley target paper. Following the marksman principles with unweighed and unwashed/lubed pellets I took careful aim and giving half a mildot holdover I let off the trigger on my stage 1 tuned SFS HW95 .22

It was epic.

I was still calibrating whilst Mawders was just shredding bullseyes, so i called it knowing he'd do me proud.

Trying to map trajectory and calibrate mildots on two alternate rifles firing different pellets at different velocities proved too much for my little brain...

Had a wicked time though.

Well done chum and welcome to the elite club of airgun flyswatters.

Another ultimate shot was when Milegajo hit a roll up fag butt at 35 yards and I'm talking the width of a .177 pellet! Good shooting, bet I still miss the bunnies though!

Would love to be at the standard to one day feel confident enough to do that sort of shooting mate but it isn't now that's for sure!

Think of Milegajo and I as young versions of you and Si! Maybe in 30 years when we get to your ages we will be as good, ;-)

Used to play darts with a lad who did not have a dartboard, he was excellent though, when I asked him how he scored a game using no board he said that he and his dad played hitting flies. I sad what first one to stick one through the body of a fly wins? Nah he replied...

We play by the leg...
