gnipper 6,844
I've got an old daiwa carp rod here that I 'borrowed' off my uncle about 18 years ago, basically I left it under a clear plastic roof at my mums and the laquer is nackered, it could probably do with new eyes too. Is there anywhere I can send it to get fixed up and any idea how much it costs roughly? Cheers, gnipper Quote Link to post

8shot 192
some rods may not be worth alot . but some are hard to come by these days and are worth spending a few quid on. Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,844
It's the sentimental value that makes it worth restoring, I can get a brand new daiwa one for less than 40 quid posted but I've had allsorts on this rod over the years and still in use now. Christian is that the one on the trading estate? Quote Link to post

Ossie n Arch 1,683
Why not have a go yourself ?? With it being a carp rod there wont be many eyes on it, you can get a new reel seat aswell. Bit of varnish to finish it off, jobs a good un. http://www.hopkinsholloway.co.uk/selector?brand_id=5&fishing_type_id=6 Quote Link to post

Getting the remaining laquer off would be a nightmare I'd imagine, I suppose I could leave it in the sun the other side up for a decade its worked on the top 1 Quote Link to post
