new law dangerous dogs .?

Recommended Posts

do you realise all dogs are covered under the dangerous dogs act, if a person feels at risk or threatened by a dog, it can be reported as a dangerous dog. so be careful with your arsey neighbours.

also biggest reported breed of dog bites in the UK is the labrador, due to to the fact there are more labs than any other breed

feck me some of the youths/chavs will love love that. i can just imagine some of them bragging about having a asbo and doing time for owning a dangerous dog lol. on a serious not i dont see it working the prisons are full enough as it is.

Exactly that mate there already releasing people earlier then they should qualify as there's no space. One lad I know got out a year Then he was eligible for parole and just put on tag. Crazy they need to build more of the fecking prisons

Just think, they will not be allowed to use guard or police dogs then, because these dogs will be biting people! So all these dog security teams will have to chuck the GSD out with the lead, their dog bites anyone, even if the person is not supposed to be there, then that is it! Dangerous dog and 18 months for the dog handler.

I was nearly blinded by a labrador when I was 5, the dog had been mistreated. I was not allowed to be afraid of Labradors, my father explained what had happened to the dog and why it bit me (it was defending land where a well meaning but daft old bat used to feed it), it was destroyed and now I have my own bundle of labrador shaped mayhem, who is currently upside down asleep in a nice sunny patch in the garden, he will move soon, there is a damned ant's nest near him!

very true regards Labs, its the 1 breed i have had probs with them trying to fight my dog, they are feckin pain in arse. My dog Bryn not one for fighting, but he will pile in if they start on him, and most lurcher his size can do lot of damage, you dont need the agro do you .! Yes this law prob with bull types owners in mind, but there lot like the above breeds that need it aswell .

It has to be an improvement on an act that said " lets destroy an entire breed of dog because a few are dangerous "..................just a shame it took over 20 years to use a little common sense.

It is not replacing the DDA, those breeds are still illegal, this is 'extra' so any breed or cross is included if i have read it right?

So what do you guys think the answer is

There is problems with the dog communtiy be it a bull x owned by a 19 year old or a wee snapper owned by a 90 year old .

But the diffrent is the damage a snapper or bull x is huge but the intent was there so whats the answer .

You can have a young nipper give somebody a punch and not do much harm he get a slap on the wrists then you can get a hardened 30 year slap somebody know them out or maybe worst case kill them and get 10 years .

So I think it case needs to be taken into account and delt with .

There alot on knobbers who own dogs and make them dangerous though bad trainning or intendeding to make them dangerous.

But its a very small majority as most of us want a nice well behaved dog same with the dunblane situ the goverment is only seeking to make legal dog ownership diffcult where all it needs is the police to act and make the problem owners live hard in realationship to dog ownership.
