nice evening down on the river seven.

Recommended Posts

had a nice evening the other day down on the seven not far from where i live.

fished for a couple of hours on feeder with a mate. after ground bait pellet mix in the feeder. ten chucks then the swim was left for 50 mins for the fish to feed

. we then cast in with pellet for hook bait. and in a instant the 1st bream of the night fell.

we had a couple more on and off. but it was the barbel we had come for. anyway it went shy for 20 mins. which imo is a good sign that hopefully the barbel had moved in on the bait. over the next hour we had 3 good barbel. not monsters but a good couple of hours. fishing. my mate also hooked something massive.

defo not a barbel ! snapped his barbel rig like cotton. days before fishing we had checked this swim and seen some massive river carp in the area. more then likely hooked one of these. going to have a go for these soon with stronger tackle

Get back for them river carp, they go like torpedos, had some arm aching scraps with upper doubles and low twenties. No fatty gutbuckets with a name and their pic in the comics, long lean powerful wild animals that use every ounce of strength and the current to find every snag in the river.
