Attack Fell Terrier 864
... i,ll never be comfortable with women trying to give or take physical punishment That is exactly why I don't like watching it. I'm happy for our lass who won gold, I'm happy to see her happy with her gold medal, but for me I just hate seeing women being punched and battered.
gnasher16 31,437
10,000 ringside spectators disagree with you Gnash and millions more on TV. So this time you loose , just for once They were Brilliant as was the atmosphere. If you didnt watch you missed out. But i think you will have had a sneakey peek somewhere along the line just to seee what all the fuss was about " this time you lose "......who wins then...you ???.......Max are you aware this is just a simple conversation on the internet .....if you gain some kind of victory from an internet conversation i really think you should try and get out and do something competetive Im aware theres millions of people who like watching Emmerdale Farm....personally i dont.....does that mean ive " lost " or " missed out " if i dont watch it I say again the majority of people ive spoken to who have either drawn hands themself or have a good knowledge on the sport ....do not like womens boxing.... I accept theres other people like you,who do like it..........i could sit for an hour justifying why i dont like it....but i really dont think i need to.....same as i dont feel i need to justify not liking Emmerdale Farm !!................Now go and pick on someone your own size Edited August 10, 2012 by gnasher16
gonetoearth 5,144
Your an easy wind Gnash thats for sure. For all those that you have met who are not keen id say there are 10 times just if not more knowlagable that do approve . Did you ever enter the boxing ring max and feel the full force of some one who has the correct. Footwork and leverage to throw a punch with optimum speed landing on your face , see I've been in and around boxing a long time and still can't get my head around. Girls wanting puffed up scar tissue around there eyes and callos growing on there knuckles. Through bag work. But hey am old fashioned and like my women to look like women

gnasher16 31,437
Max some people show their experience, knowledge and understanding with every word they say and its not difficult to see when they are bullshitting...................i could sit here banging on about fishing or some other subject i dont have a clue about like you do...........and it really wouldnt be difficult to spot after a while ! Even on here......theres a handful of lads whos opinions on the noble art i respect for the simple reason they have seen the sport from the difficult side of the ropes or have enough understanding to make judgement...........and like me none of them like womens boxing either.............so you go figure it. redcharge 379
I boxed a bit as a kid and to be honest it is uncomfortable for me to watch women in the ring, the thought of a woman dealing with a body shot that leaves you doubled over in agony gasping for air just isnt right imho....................... gnasher16 31,437
The Irish lasses Father seemed to like it and it was his own daughter he trained , wasnt he an ex boxer whom his daughter drew inspiration from ? Its also pretty nieve you saying you have to have participated in a Sport to have a Opinion on it. Maybe your just living in the old Cockney Old school ways of the past too much Gnash. Like i say do a National Poll and see what Folk think about Our Women who represented Team GB in the Ring. Like you said you didnt Tune in so you wont know how they performed or what the atmosphere in the arena was like. It was immense and would take some beating if it was two World Champions of the Proffessional ranks fighting it out. A poll of armchair sports fans or a poll of competetive sports folk ? i know which id put more weight in ........................but then coming from a man who thinks Hartlepool has produced world great fighters.....i think i,ll stick to my " cockney old school ways " and not try to swim against the tide.
