Pellets

Recommended Posts

You often hear the pet brigade informing you that you must remove the shot area of an animal before feeding it to the ferts, so they don't get lead poisoning. Feed shot rabbit most days, never had a problem.

Any of you find many of these when cleaning out?

The digestive systems of carnivores are too quick for lead to react and poison the animal, however animals like cows which have longer digestive systems it can cause problems. There are scientific papers looking into lead shot being collected in hay and siledge and causing problems.
