jimster68 123
after the last few months of bad weather its been a change to be able to be out in the garden. everything is a bit overgrown and needs weeding the veg patch seems to have survived pretty well but some things have done better than others. i have added a few pictures but feel free to add your own this is a view from the top of my garden, the veg is behind a small flower bed. the spuds have gone wild and judging by the tops it looks like were in for a bumper crop this year, i only planted main crop. dwarf broad beans have gone mad and are over 4ft tall and are cropping well. onions have done ok, but i lost a few that went rotten with the wet weather. courgettes have only just started producing and have lots of flowers. this year i planted the runner beans in the flower bed to add a bit of extra colour but they havent produced anything? they are flowering well but not a bean in sight. beetroot has been a compleate failure due to the weather, this is a big disappointment as most of the family have already got there crimbo order in. a couple of weeks ago i put my winter cabbages, winter kale and also winter leeks in and i have lost a few to slugs but things seem to be going according to plan. in the greenhouse the tomatoes are a big disappointment and not a ripe one in sight, they seem weeks behind cucumbers are doing well, we have had a few to eat already and it looks like there is plenty more to come. i have just added a few picture of the plants in the border that a i grew from seed (most of the seeds from LIDL) thanks for looking.......Jim
tegater 789
You've put a lot of effort in there, and a nice garden, with a varied selection of fruit veg and flowers. My cougette plants all went mouldy a few weeks ago...because of the wet weather I assume.

MissRhianL 70
Hey thats a nice little set up you got there I took over my partners auntys garden this year, so im having to learn as i go along really which has been quite interesting, I planted some of the seeds i bought from lidls and other plant seeds that were hidden away in a shed at the garden. Not all things came but i know better for next time round now. I did put runner beans in from seed but they didnt show this summer, what have grown really well so far are - Rhubarb, Garlic, Potatoes, Lettuce, Chives, and also Peas in a pod. I dont have a massive patch to grow on but im trying to make the most out of it for her. So im just going through the learning process now of learning when to start pulling them up out of the ground or when the best time is to pick the peas off. I did have some trouble with slugs attacking my lettuces and basil, they demolished the parsley but tried a few things out like egg shells and beer and slug pellats and fair play the lettuces are looking pretty lol so at least i got something to work. I did plant radishes but i always thought radishes grow under the ground but these ones are coming off the flowers, they could be a different type im not too sure, but theyre like a 5p piece round and then have grown long into a point so god knows lol. Ill try and take a picture of my little patch tomorrow and upload it for you.
