NEED AIR RIFLE MADE MORE POWERFUL

Recommended Posts

Co2 acts like a PCP!!

Airgun shooter ran a ratty test with crosman nudging 8.4ft/lb at 512fps

Bisley pest control did 9.6ft/lb at 490fps.

Co2 like heavier pellet's.

There's no guarantee your's will like these pellet's.

For the sake of £6,give em a go!

Personally,i'd be looking at jsb exact for general work.

But as your a feral/rat man,the Pest Control make the most sense.

Dont go daft and try Magnum's you'll probably end up with about 6.5ft/lb,a step too far!!

Let us know how you get on buddy.

Light weight pellets go faster so some equate that with higher FPE. Precharged and CO2 can utilise extra weight more than springers so dont think lighter is allways better. with low powered rifles like yours a lighter pellet will shoot flatter but not perhaps as efficiantly as your 14.4 ones. light weight ammo run out of steam quicker so have less FPE at the longer distances. as a footnote, remember that CO2 air

weapons are less powerfull as ambient temperatures fall. In very cold situations emmisions on firing the CO2 behind the pellet follows the pellet out of the barrel as snow flakes!. lesson to learn of CO2 weapons? really C**P in winter like conditions.

Never mind the pellet weight and all that bollox , just make sure they hit In the right place and you won't have a problem ......

Seems to me everyone is talking about Power here , when its is 99% of the time not really an issue . Hit your mark , and that's enough .

Totally agree........ Everyone gets so hung up on power when the most important thing when your hunting live quarry is accuracy, accuracy, accuracy.

Whether your guns delivering a muzzle energy of 9 ft/lb or 11.5 ft/lb, if you can't hit your target accurately, you shouldn't be hunting, period!!

A consistent low powered air rifle is far better than a powerful inconsistent rifle that cant group well.

Weather a rabbit is being hit in the head with 4 foot pounds at 45 yards in .22 from a muzzle energy or 9 foot pounds or 5.1 foot pounds at 45 yards from a muzzle energy or 11.5 foot pounds is by the by as its still dead but try and kill a rabbit at 45 yards with 30 foot pounds when the pellet wont land in the right place.

It wont happen 8 out of every 10 tries.
