R.A.W 1,987
Why does the door the door always get slammed in my face when seeking new ground ? no matter what i do 99 out of 100 farms turn me away. to top it all off i recently read about thives offering free pest control then robbing the place. so we can all look forward to plenty more looks of suspicion Quote Link to post

redcur 54
it seems the best way is to ask if its ok to do abit of ferreting then introduce the dog at a later date Quote Link to post
the big chief 3,099
pay to go on the ground that solves all the problems farmers getting a little wage and what you make on the rabbits will probly cover it ? Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,165
Well I've just gained about 1000 acers of permission. Great I thought, till I went to have a look and it's too stony to run the dogs on. All it's good for is rabbit shooting. It will keep the dogs fed but that about it. Sometimes a bit of luck helps and offen the more permission you have, the more you get. Good luck Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,217
pay to go on the ground that solves all the problems farmers getting a little wage and what you make on the rabbits will probly cover it ? Thats partly the problem, bell ends paying to shoot it. Who is going to let you do them a favour for free, when some wanker with a big gun, to make him feel better about his diminutive penis, will give them a chunk of cash to blat everything in sight. blackmaggie 3,377
r a w its always been the same you are viewed as a wrongun when they see a lurcher your a thief or your dogs a sheep bandit it goes with the job then you get shooters offering silly money but i know farmers that have had crops destroyed / fences broke by thoughtless dickheads driving the fields and mud sticks and word soons spreads but chin up keep trying Quote Link to post

Well i try It's going ok so far. Obviosuly its not as big or as professsional as yours. However, i don't think that's really relevant. I'm more reffering to folk i have spoken to, in other parts of the country, who have been booted off land where they have done a decent job of controlling the coney, because some lads from 'the city' have come a long and offered the farmer a wad of cash to shoot the bunnys with rifes. It's totally different from the payed game shooting, as obviously there is an out laying of money which needs to be recouped. I have no issue with game shoots / shooting and never have, never will! You had a shit day mate? I've been sliding round in the mud and rain, trying to make the birds look slightly less drowned, and reduce the rat / tree rat population. Remember danny boy . . . . i love you and your subaru Quote Link to post
