MOO 730
if you watch it closely it was not an oppertunistic attack ....you can see the osprey sees the buzzard coming ...then it leaves the nest and when the buzzard lifts the chick you ca n see at the top of the screen the osprey trying to mob the buzzard ...I wouldnt be surprised if the other chick gets taken also....so thats red squirrels and ospreys being preyed apon....was it not the rspb that said they only eat worms and road kill

I wouldn,t get too excited mate, there was a valid point made that the osprey population is thriving, can,t see a buzzard cull in the near future

alimac 882
You keepery types are all the same!! Poor wee buzzards, they get hungry too.. Lol Glad I don't have the stress of there massive over population anymore.. Got to say there ain't the number down in fife that's up in Grampian.. Still too many none the less
Lab 10,979
They may be thriving but if they keep getting hit like that then the hook beak lovers will have a decision to make............. Facts are the Buzzards are having to take more extreme measures to feed cause of there significant numbers. If they allow someone to control Buzzard numbers that are attacking Osprey chicks the doors will open for others......

Facts are the Buzzards are having to take more extreme measures to feed cause of there significant numbers. baw 4,360
I don't have a problem with buzzards, quite like seeing any bird of prey. Aye they might take the odd pheasant but so what? There are plenty of them about.
StevoSmith 147
Got loads of the fkers where i live........few years back you would rarley see a buzzard make a kill......now though they taking young rabbits at some rate......As for Osprey chick i doubt mutch will be done.....nature will take it's course and i also believe natural order will soon knock there numbers back
