spade 224
About time, what a waste of fantastic food. Can't see why it takes so long to come in to force though.
MoChara 1,632
My fella worked on the fishing boats for years.. He said he couldnt beleive the amount of waste there was, for every net hauled half of it was thrown back in. They only kept monk along with their usual catch as its good money in shore So that will be a worth while change
PeakOil 352
Provisional dates agreed by ministers would see a ban on discards of mackerel and herring before 2014. A phased ban on discards of cod, haddock, plaice and sole would be fully in operation before 2018. Bugger me with a sideways pitchfork. The useless tw@ts in Brussels still leave two years of discarded Mackrel & Herring and a f*****g scandalous 6 years before the discarded Cod, Haddock, Plaice & Sole is 'legal'. I suppose when you are on the expenses claiming EU gravy train you don't have to think about British fishermen or hundreds of thousands of tons of wasted perfectly good food.

Once again, too little too late. Why don't they have the balls to execute a radical change immediately?
Carraghs Gem 1,713
Im delighted theyve finally come to this decision, disapointed that it will take so long to come into effect but at least we are on the right track
