reddawn 2,173
i cannae see anygood to come of talking to the media, especially the bbc, its obvious to me how they feel about what we do, i wouldnt entertain them in a million years, i agree way gnasher about who cares about folk not intrested in our chosen fieldsports, but i also agree way the pther point that if hunters want to be allowed to get there point across, then they should be allowed, but my advice to anybody would be to tread carefully, very carefully

paulus 26
when countryfile showed that bloke flying a harris hawk on the lamp at rabbits on a golf course in scotland a while back, the programe made it look like the man said, rabbits dig up the grass to eat the roots, running rabbits with dogs was against the law and several other bits of complete rubbish. i took the the trouble to contact the bbc and complain, after the usual fob offs, they finally admitted that it had been edited, the bloke was talking about badgers digging for worms on the greens and he said he couldnt use running dogs because there was hares as well as rabbits and didnt want to break the law. so be very carefull if any of you intend to give an interview, what you say will not necessarily be what you hear when its broardcast.
skycat 6,174
As with anything media related, you have to be very clear about your wishes, what is said, and determine before hand a huge number of things: including editing, how the interviewer stands on the subjects to be discussed, reserving full rights to sue if you are portrayed in a way which misrepresents you etc etc. Yes, it would be a really big minefield May be better to enlist the help of some pro fieldsports camera man and go from there: make our own programme! scothunter 12,609
I'm lost. Did the bbc contact a member on here? And get told to f**k off! Incidentally sure it was the bbc. Some on here mine the odd wind up. Anyway no matter what you say, your words will be twisted or ignored in any interview. Someone should write to ch4 f**k they make programmes about gypos Abd any other old dross. They just might like the idea of another Fly on the wall documentary.
