its a shame realy that they cant. i use to shoot squizzys all the time in our local town cemetery and would oftern have people come up and tell me what a good job i was doing with all the restrictions put on kids now days is it any wonder there all going nuts.... well done anyway steavo you have probably saved them alot of greif and stopped them from being even more institutionalised by the system

Thing is you get a pull from the police now in your teens your on there system anything happens your the first person they come looking for and if they get caught and want a shotgun ,rifle later in life they have no chance because there parents couldn't be bothered watching them and booted them out to amuse themselves

the thing is we were always out on our own and never did us no harm, the only real way to learn is to experience it, its the nanny state thats at fault no the kids

There is a big difference between giving kids freedom and just not being arsed to spend the time with them. I would have trusted my son not to have done something stupid at that age because of the hours we spent clay shooting and plinking in the garden with his HW25. Sadly, a lot of parenting has been subcontracted to the TV and Playstation - where shot people get up again and life is detached from reality.

At least their dad knew what they were up to, even if it was illegal and not very sensible! I would have been inclined to explain to the kids and give dad a call to explain the potential problem to him (pretty much all kids that age have mobiles these days). Gone about in the right way there are two more responsible young shots in the making.
