They still don't do it for me mate, undoubtedly the best passing side I've ever seen but not a single player capable of the sort of magic that Ronaldo, Messi or Georgie Best could do! Give me the Brazil side of 10 years ago any day..
gnasher16 31,499
When you get a team of top class. Players like they have who play for every top side in the world It takes some coach to bring them together , think he may be one of the best coaches. The game Has ever seen , When you have a set of players in front of you who are such complete footballers you can say " go out play with 2 defenders and the rest of you can do what you want "..........i dont think that takes great coaching...............those players are that good it was like watching a kids game in the playground where everyone attacks and then everyone defends.....only they do it because THEY CAN.......thats how good they are..............Maragret Thatcher could send them boys out to win football matches they are such complete footballers gifted in every area of the game. Thats the difference mate you want entertainment......Spain want victory !.............the fact the 3 players you mention all play/played in 1 man teams suggests that combined brilliance pays far bigger dividends than individual brilliance.......who would you rather watch that Spain side or George Best playing for Ireland........maybe you should try the theatre or opera to get your entertainment

Dunno about one man teams, well before my time but Best was part of a pretty handy Utd side with Dennis Law, Bobby Charlton, etc, Ronaldo was part of a United attack that contained Tevez, Rooney, Berbatov, etc and Messi is part of probably the best club football team that has ever existed. Saying that I preferred the Barca team when it had the likes of Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Figo in it.

Yes but we,re talking about International football where you cant BUY your team mates...........at International level those 3 played in pretty much 1 man teams who would you rather watch Best/Ireland etc or that Spain side tonight...............................rarely do we ever see anything close to sporting perfection.....that Spain side is close to it........some folk would call Phil Taylor a boring darts player like they used to call Steve Davis a boring snooker player.............is perfection boring ? not for me i think its great.

The game Has ever seen , He will be off to Liverpool or Newcastle next season then! lol lol lol Back in May 2001, when Harry Redknapp was sacked as manager of West Ham, an (at the time) unemployed VICENTE DEL BOSQUE applied for the job but never even got as far as an interview....... The Hammers' Board preferring to appoint GLENN ROEDER into the hot-seat!!...... Just saying!!

You could add Shumaker to that list too, top, top driver and when he was in at Ferrari and at the peak of his game, no one could touch him. He was an excellent driver but the lack of competition while he was dominating made formula one as exiting as watching paint dry!

Na mate thats nothing to do with Schmauker thats just F1 for you......totally boring crap.. I agree with you on the Spanish side at the moment, although yes some of the stuff they do is a joy to watch and the confidence of the defenders to put there foot on the ball and play out of defence is class to watch i sometimes think when they are around the box its a pass to many. Last night they had a couple of shots but usually its pass, pass, pass....there fans must be willing them to shoot.... Dont get me wrong it certainly works, the proof there for all too see.............
