Just wondering albert, I wasnt there but from what ive read today it comes across as if some or all dogs were not muzzled for racing??

If thats the case why not?

All dogs were muzzled but as you know aggressive dogs can still make their presence felt.

it was a pile of shite young man worst show ive been to was glad i only took the young terrier down never put him in anything but the whole day was poor

What a dreadful example to set to a young enthusiast. With top prizes only bettered in Ireland by Shanes or Birr, a top terrier judge brought in from England - what on earth could you see wrong with that? I would suspect its because you didn't have the balls to enter or you entered and didn't win.

. Young Man too his beating like a 'man' when he must have been very disappointed when his dog was pipped in the last few yards by a very fast little terrier with an amazing final kick. I think he could teach many about sportsmanship and I hope he continues to enjoy his dog and competing.

You meanwhile appear a totally poor sportsman who sounds off behind an alias. Barrie Wade is a fine terrier man and I would suspect he has forgotten more about terriers than you will ever know.

Everyone of course is entitled to their opinion but perhaps you would let 'Young Man' know how credible your opinion is. Now since you voiced your opiniion of the judging the show and virtually everything else I would challenge you to let us know :

1. What shows you have organised?

2. What top prizes you have won with lurchers, terriers and whippets?

3. When you have judged whippets, lurchers and terriers?

cheers albert yes it was a bit slow butt it was a good day out . and my wee patterdale is as quick as the outher one but a wee border terrier pushed her so she had to go on the out side of wee mist but alll in all we had a great day out even my mummy and granny loved it haha thanks albert.

they were muzzled by when theres a dogs twice ur dogs weighjt trying to kill ur dog instead of chasing the lure,it becomes dangerous ,my bitch got flipped onto her back and in to the air 3 times i dont no the names of many of thes dogs or people but i would like to find out who they are,to try and get them barred at these events.

so if any one knows the names of persistent offneders please add there name and dogs name below-------

surely they wouldnt be in anymore danger than lamping them on real quarry they take there fair share of knocks and flips while chasing them

Hogie,

Fair enough you stepped up to the plate for my challenge. I respect that but your first comment ' it was a pile of shite young man worst show ive been to was glad i only took the young terrier down never put him in anything but the whole day was poor ' and damned everything on the basis of not liking the lurcher judge!

The Keep er Lit Dog Show and Raceday Sunday 20th July 2025
Doagh Equestrian is situated on the beautiful Antrim coast in the village of Doagh, Co Antrim. This was a new venue for the “Keep er Lit” Dog show and Race day and the ideal spot for   last Sundays Show.
From early morning, cars and trailers arrived from North and South of the border. Some people came as far away as Limerick and Drogheda with families and dogs in tow. Our good canine folk love a good dog show in the summer and a chat with like minded people. They certainly were not disappointed at the Keep er Lit show.
As the show progressed, so did the banter and the craic. The rings were well spaced out with a good long race track. Paul Boyd was there with his country sports stand, with everything needed in the hunting fraternity.
Some very tasty burgers were available on site and an Equestrian shop with great discounts on offer on the day. I had to take control of my retail therapy when I got into that shop, as I was like a child in a toy shop with to much to choose from.
The weather was glorious all day and at times to warm. As usual the raffle generated a great buzz around the field with some great prizes on offer.
The show started with the racing first at approximately 12.30
Here are the Racing and Showing Results

      Congratulations to all above winners.
And Finally, may I take this opportunity to thank the judges and their ring stewards on the day,on behalf of the Keep er Lit Team for a job well done.
Strong Dog Judge : Gareth Barnett
      Lurcher Judge       : Gerard Melaugh
      Whippet Judge      : Colin Maguire
      Terrier Judge         : Martin Breen
      Pets Judge             : Gail Ross
Judging is not an easy job, but you were consistent and fair, and very successful with the end product.
The racing was carried out as usual to perfection by The Mc Grath Racing Club Carlow. These people have many years experience in the Canine world both in showing and racing and their input helps to alleviate the pressure on the show organizer on the day. A job well done Biddy and team.
Some lovely photographs were taken on the day by various people, and no doubt these will be up on the site shortly.
And Finally, Finally, they say behind every good man is a good woman and Leigh Thompson along with Paddy Gibson, you both definitely fitted into that category. Your show was run with impeccable organisation. It was evident on the day a lot of hard work and sleepless nights was put into  this now annual Show. Leigh and Paddy you pulled out all the stops on the day and produced a top class show in a top class venue. Well done and a credit to you both.
I am Looking forward to more of the same in 2026. Thank you for the memories. To we meet again God Bless.
