lanesra 4,007 Posted May 5, 2012 Report Share Posted May 5, 2012 Cup Final Day was THE BEST DAY OFF THE YR at 1 time , the build up started at 10 in the morning right the way through till 5 ish , the streets where empty as all the kids where glued to the tele to watch a live match , and if your team where in the final better still , now i think the romamce of the cup has gone sadly , tv & money have taken something away sadly ... i think Liverpool will win they always seem to raise there game in finals even when all looks lost A.C.Milan and West Ham games spring to mind ................ though i bet Torres is playin on the Liverpool fans minds , could he be the match winner for Chelsea ? Cant see it.........Seems like the kind of guy that struggles under pressure and if he gets a chance to win the game i reckon he'll fluff it. If Chelsea have the game wrapped up then he could be a favourite to net a goal. I'll go for a defender being the hero for the day......not sure what side though?.. Id say it probably is for many English people.....without doubt the Champions League is the biggest final for the clubs due to finances......but i think the Fa cup is the peoples tournament and it has far more history and meaning to the average man in the street......the Fa cup has a magic feeling about it,what other trophy in world football can a non league side win......32 years ago my club won the Fa cup from the old second division and were the last club to do so.... i remember every single thing about the day like it was yesterday....ok thats probably because we,ve won f**k all since but i still think the fact literally any club can win the Fa cup gives it that little bit more character and depth of feeling than the Champions league ever could.....only my feelings of course and im sure if you follow the big clubs you just get swallowed up in the whole Europe thing.....but then money usually ruins most good things and this is no different.
