can you teach me to conceal myself from my wife please

What do you need a gun shape for then? This sounds like your going to charge adults to play hide and seek.

20 years in the military ??? So you left with only 2 years to go before your full pension strange that ??? And I don't know who taught you your sniper training but the fifth S is for sudden movement a

Oh I know snipers are not superhuman lol ..... The point I was making is that the fella is going to be teaching sniper skills and he doesn't even understand the basics ..... However he has had plenty of time now to google what he needs to know lol ...... And just for the record ... Counter sniper ? Your general area being observed .... If your that bad a sniper I can guarentee you would be dead before you knew about it .........

20 years in the military ??? So you left with only 2 years to go before your full pension strange that ??? And I don't know who taught you your sniper training but the fifth S is for sudden movement and not sound ..... Those are variables that will get you seen And killed... Spacing isn't needed as a sniper will either work alone or with 1 other to act as a spotter calculate wind speed etc .... Depends on the job ...... Speed is covered in sudden movement and if you can be smelt then as a sniper I suggest you are a little close to your target ..............

Firstly, snipers never work alone.

Secondly, smell is important as it reminds you of deodorant, aftershave, cigarette smoke and the need to avoid them.

If you've ever been to a jungle or been out and about at night with a few guys you'll know about how easy it is to pick up on trace scents. I'm a smoker and can smell things at unbelievable distances a long as the wind is right.

Third, it's Smell, sound, shadow, silhouette, spacing, shine, and movement. 6 S's and an M ;)

Lol snipers never work alone realy secondly smell is only important as part of general field craft and not as part of sniper training by the time you get to that level you should understand wind direction and general field craft thirdly sudden movement ? Movement? All the same realy fella isn't it .... As for jungles take your pick Belize Kathendini Borneo blah blah blah no matter where in the world you are the basic principles for survival are the same .............

Not saying they don't ever work without a spotter, but when they do they aren't on their own.

We all need reminding of the basics, and need a solid foundation to build on, so I wasn't surprised when we went over them again on my course ;)

Smell is even more important when dealing with animals do it's a good idea to incorporate it into the course in question...

Sudden movement is obviously a no no, however if you know you're the target of a counter sniper or your general area is being observed, then movement itself becomes a problem. I've never seen a bush wobble or shake without something inside it.

So in summary, any decent course in advanced skills in anything, will go over the basics no matter what - anyone that tells you otherwise probably has the impression that snipers are superhuman wizards who fly about in balaclavas, when the reality is they're soldiers who perform the basics first and foremost up to the highest standard.

smell comes and goes depends on wind direction and also how big your konk is  snippers in reality lie about in shit and mud for countless boreing hours doing nothing but getting board

I only commented as I don't think you had the right to effectively question his service, coupled with the fact that it seems you're the one who's been googling 'facts'.

Yes I understand that your general area is being observed, so in your opinion it's ok to crawl away as long as its not sudden movement????

Ridiculous....

Yes Paulus, covered in s**t piss wet through dreaming about McDonalds and your bed is the reality

@socks, Sniper and spotter are the same thing; any sniper team can be stumbled across by a foot patrol. Smell can travel some distance (spend a few days in an OP and you will know about the smell lol). The point I was making was none of them are less important that the others, I gave them in no specific order as each of them will get you compromised.

@ anyone else, Im not going to be teaching man hunters, if that’s what people want, join the army. No bell towers on my courses thanks. I refer back to the question about the law relating to having a model (lump of wood carved and painted) of a sniper rifle in public on a promotional stand if that could be breaking some law? The law states “without good reason”, would promotional work be considered a good reason? Naturally I would pre warn the local plod of my intentions. I would also satisfy the ministry of stating the obvious by putting a sign saying “Model and not a real gun” right next to it.

Any solicitors out there?

Woodoak, as seen the law is interpreted by different forces/individual constables as they see fit. My advice would be to contact your constabulary and give them the dates, they may also want to inspect it but I really don't see it as being a problem. An imitation weapon is defined as one that is 'indistinguishable from the real thing, even at close range', so I can't see you ruffling feathers with a wooden cutout, but better to be safe than sorry

I'm not a lawyer, just saying what I'd do in that situation....

@Plasticjock, Chears, Its good advice. Its wood but its a very good model of a real gun if i say so myself. the only real bit is the scope and mounts. I was a Sargent and even I never claimed to be the best or to know everything. Anyone who does, doesnt. lol

Long enough

I'm not listing my CV for everyone's viewing but suffice it to say I haven't been out long, did the course about 2 and a half years ago, and there's plenty on here who can vouch for me.

I'm not arguing with you tbh I've had enough with people questioning things which can easily verified if they had a brain in their head.

You're full of s**t IMO, ''Sniper in real time'' yes, which is why I know you don't work alone
