hedz31 1,308
I don't think you need to cut corners at all, in fact quiet the opposite.....let the quality of your work and your service stand for itself, put a value on it and if people don't want to pay it then let them get someone else !! I take my hat off to any small firms who are directly employing men at the moment as I bet many of the bosses are going without a little bit themselves to keep blokes in work so fair play to them......I wouldn't do it !! your not getting what im saying mate , the work quality is always done to the highest standerd other wise it is obvious you wont get no custom. ive seen it pal , mixing up type one dug out the roads useing it for concreteing foundations and for floor bases, and the building inspecter comes out and says what a good job. couldnt believe it , its all back handers. they add abit of dust or sand with it , it will go off as hard as any concrete. there fraudsters all back handers the end result always is good but they do cut corners and make money. subbies getting booked in with diggers etc , they werent even on the job, next thing the subbies are taking the bosses up scotland shooting , its all for the benefit of there selfs and all there doing is robbing there own company. there such big companies nobody knows any different, but the problem is when they get greedy (and they all do) they take the piss to much and get caught but the hardest thing is proving whats going on, and why is it all the bull shitters do well and always got money! So a firm was digging out type 1 mot stone out of road's for foundation's and floor base's cant see that being a big firm or on a houseing site mate sound's like a small band of builder's bodging mate not what i would call cutting corner's on a large site, how the feck did they get away with that with a building inspector especialy on a foundation it would of took them fecking age's to dig that back out and mix it by hand or mixer and lay it to look like concrete would of been cheaper and easier in long run that getting a m3 mix delivered by a company surely a building inspector would not take a bung for that on a foundation pour if that come's down with folk in it or they have to underpin it in the future he would be liable as feck so would the fella's that built it

I remember a top economist being interviewed a while ago, when asked for his advice he said 'buy a gun and move to the country' Says it all realy.

I read somewhere a while back that some offer the opinion that the whole lot is about to go tits up just like every other great human civilisation has done in the past. I personally reckon we're seeing the start of the decline of the western way of life as the eastern countries like china and India grow ever stronger.. In the future we will seem as backward and poor to them as they have seemed to us in the past.

I'm not going to get into conspiracies but i believe it's the banks pushing for a world currency.
Ratreeper 441
I need to change jobs, I can't believe people are complaing they can only make £500 a week instead of fecking 1000's...what world are you all living on? Or does that not factor in all the overheads to get the work in the first place, marketing etc? Either way I want to be a plasterer Oh aye, plasterers lead a charmed life mate. Piss easy to work 40/50/60 hours a week flat out up and down ladders, hop ups and scaffold while carting buckets of shit with you all day every day then slapping it on the walls. Paying for labourers, fuel, kit & knackering your muscles and bones up in the process! They earn every penny! I wasn't saying it wasn't hard work, but I don't consider that to be bad money at all. I work 45 hours plus 3 hours a day commuting that costs a fortune in fuel. But I sit in a shitty boring office wasting away and getting fat for just enough money to put more fuel in the car and spend weekends sat watching TV. I would be more than willing to break my balls doing some real work if it meant I could afford my own house one day... None of your mates in the trade offer to do a couple days for nothing and see if you feel the same atb Nah a lot of my mates are labourers though which I have helped a few times, just stuff like tarring roofs and moving rubble and stuff. But that was for about £30 lol, if it was for £3,000 a week I would happily do it, for £3,500 - £5,000 a week a would wank off my old man. THATS BETWEEN 3 OF US AND REMENBER IT IS A SKILLED JOB AND IF THEY DONT LIKE WHAT THEY SEE YOU DO NOT GET PAID FOR IT I am not sure why I am the only one impressed with that kind of money, £3,500 - £5000 split between three people still give £60,666 - £86,666 EACH over a year. I understand realistically you aren't working every week, will have expenses so that will be less...but the national average salary is apparently about 21-24k per year. My mrs works 6 days a week for minimum wage and earns half that. I think the high earners mess with that figure too, most people I know my age are happy with 15-17k. Malt 379
What I can't understand is the Eurozone being allowed by people who should know better to borrow its way out of debt?.....how the f**k does that work? I don't get it either. It was always a long shot to put countries with such vastly differing cultures and work ethics into the same boat and expect them to stand on equal footings. The whole way of life in the med regions was a simpler, more sedentary one compared to those in the industrialised north. The Greeks and others always seemed happy with what they had until they had their heads turned and believed they could afford the same things as the Germans (for example) without radically altering the way they lived their lives. All this talk of the euro collapsing, they should let it imo. What they're doing now is like throwing money at an old building on dodgy foundations to keep it standing when it really needs pulling down and building again from the bottom up.
