Is there nothing the terrier men can qualify for it seems mostly catered for lucher and whippet owners alike....Albert another suggestion why not make some of your shows qualifiers for the big shows across the pond such as earth dog running dog, pride of the peaks, countrymans weekly final at Weston park as Ireland don't have many qualifiers throughout the year just a suggestion thanks.

We focused on the terriers two years ago We had a 'work in progress' this year but put it back for various reasons but plan to focus more on the terriers for next year.

We have had qualifiers for the CW for several years but very few people went to compete. In fact that was one of the reasons we decided to try to bring International events here.

We work closely with CW and would be happy to seek qualifiers if people want to use them.

However if you look at the prizes for Ballywalter the terriers are well looked after AND wait until you see what we have for the terriers at our 25th All Ireland Championships at Shanes!

Thanks for replying Albert but for the sake of a few forms to fill in it should be made available that way if you win on that particular day you have a choice wether you want to go or not....I'm not saying an all expenses trip or thing just qualifiers.....that's something some of the terrier and lucher owners would be grateful for I went to the pride of peaks last year and seen various ones from Ireland so it might of interest to you in the future to make them available....cheers

Fiona,

We have had quite a few people ask us this and after a great deal of discussion amongst the group we have decided that certainly for Ballywalter we will go with the published qualifying criterion that the dog must NOT have won any race. So on that basis your dog would be ineligible.

BUT we are willing to listen to views on this for Shanes and Birr 2012. We certainly don't want to discourage people entering puppy races.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Albert

Yes,

As we changed from the initial idea of having the Novice for Shanes Castle pre qualified in order to give more people an opportunity to compete we have decided as the only 'pre qualifier' that you will go through to the second round in your classification. From then on its up to the dog.

Hessy,

Thanks for your suggestion. We are delighted to announce that our Terrier events at Ballywalter & Shanes Castle are now qualifiers for arguably one of the most prestigious UK Championships of all :

National Working Terrier Federation Championship Qualifiers 2012

Both Ch and Reserve Ch Terrier Qualify

This year’s Championship Show will be held at the ever popular Warwickshire & West Midlands Game Fair, at its NEW VENUE of Arbury Hall, Arbury Park, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV10 7P on Bank Holiday Sunday 26th August 2012.

A Tribute to the late John Shaw who passed away  last Thursday 6th November 25

      I Am Free
Do not grieve for me now my  friends and family, I am free
I am following the path God Laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day
To Love, to live, to hunt, to show my treasured Whippets, or play.
I found a peace at close of day.
Be not burdened with the times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Do not lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts my friends and share with me
      God wanted me now,
      He set me free.
John, we will love you forever and you will be sadly missed by your loving family and all your Country Sporting Fraternity and in the show ring.
May the Angels above give you the best seat in Heaven and may your gentle soul rest in peace.
      For Country Sports Fraternity
