wedge2409 98
Went up to the permission with the intention of shooting a few rabbits for a mates harris hawk.I decided to give the scopecam a go as i haven't done it for a while.Every time i go up there seems to be more rabbits, today i did see a lot more young about even got to within 2 feet of some of them. There was also a lot of woodies about and i even saw a couple of squirrels .Any way i did manage to bag 3 rabbits for my mate ,2 at 35 mtr's and the furthest was the youngster taken at 41 mtrs.Without the scopecam i could have trebled the bag, but had fun trying it again and bagged what i needed.....Ste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK8YjcsfExY 1 Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Nice shooting there buddy, was the first shoot a head or heart and lung? Lewis It was a very nicely placed quatering shot to the brain Lewis You can tell a brain shot by the way the legs kick, more specifically the way the toes/claws spread. It's caused by a massive "Short Circuit" as it were in the brains electrical signals. As the signals dissapate the wave slows down and the leg lowers. If you keep watching carefully, every now and then you will see the back leg tremmor/shake a bit, often this is mistaken for signs of life, but it's not, its just a last release of electrical signals in the nerves. Most brain shot animals are dead before they roll over. A heart/lung shot would usually allow the bunny to run a few feet to a few yards. Wedge, Nice shooting Didn't you notice the bunny after the second shot ran away then came back? The third rather scraggy looking bunny looks like it was a survivor of Mixy hopefully it has already passed on some of it's resistance to the disease They'll never to build up a resistance to high velocity lead though Tony Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Nice clip Ste, Can I ask a question pal? Have you turned off the steady shot on your camera? It looks like you haven't on the clip buddy. If you haven't then you need to turn it off mate for better stiller and more precise cross hair aim points. When steady shot is turned on and you are scope camming the cross hairs will move making a sort of forced parallax. With steady shot turned off they don't move. Good shooting though pal Si. 1 Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I thought that too Si, couldn't remember if it were on or off causing it though. Quote Link to post
wedge2409 98
Thanks for the comments lads.Tony what an answer to a question, couldn't have put it better if i tried. What a manky rabbit that third rabbit was mate, didn't like picking it up.Hi Si just checked my cam manual and it has o.i.s and hybrid o.i.s (optical image stabilizer) which are turned on in default setting .Just ordered a better step down adapter so next time i will turn off the o.i.s and see if there is a noticeable difference.
