Gym memberships nationwide go up every year by about 25% in the months of Feb/March......so your not alone ;)

 

In all seriousness........people always say if you want big arms do curls......but the fact is the triceps muscle makes up two thirds of the upper arm....the biceps makes up one third..........so forget curls.

You dont even need weights.......Dips for triceps,pull ups for biceps.

I don't care what any internet expert or fitnesd guru says, you need to do CORE lifts,

 

The following exercises are the biggest and best, Don't just try to build up biceps and triceps or you'll look like one of them twats with big arms and puny everything else.

 

Do Bench Press (builds chest and triceps)

Overhead Press (also called military press)

Squats (one of the biggest and best lifts to do. Increased production of your testosterone and HGH)

Deadlifts ( a massive core lift)

Barbell bent over rows

 

Look up a routine called Starting Strength.

Read it properly and in detail do not just skip through it.

Eat about 1 gram of protein for every lb of your LEAN body mass.

 

You will gain results all over and look better than someone who does 10 different types of bicep curls everyday of the week.

join a bb'ing gym near you, you'll get all the info you need there :thumbs: just make sure you stay away from them "fitness centers", fookin faggot centers more like, know f**k all in them places, apart from how to avoid breaking a sweat and ruining your highlighted hair.

 

 

Go to the gym three times a week.Would love to shag you . :laugh: :laugh: :laugh::boogy: :boogy:

I know exactly what it means thanks, Your LEAN body mass is the mass of your muscles, bones and all the connective tissue that makes it up , you get it by taking away the % of fat you have.

 

So if your 200lbs and 20% body fat then you need to eat 160grams of protein a day. If you want to bulk up you need to find out what calories you need to stay the same weight (Your maintenance) then add in about 500 extra, this with the right amount of protein and you should see results

dumb bells mate, and some bicep curls. Pull ups and push ups mate, there is an easy way to get bigger arms and forarms !

 

if we stuck to bumb bells and bicep curls, as we'll leave the other 2 for when i';ve got a bit of muscle mass :icon_redface: what sort of rate would you go for??

 

15kg db 5 reps of 10 or 7.5 db 2 reps of 25 ??

 

always something i've been a wee bit interested in in but never was sure where to start :hmm: :hmm:

 

just get a book on resistance training mate.

 

generally you'll work out what your 1 rep max is (the absolute most you can lift just once)

then design your program around that.

 

for example you may put 60% of your 1 rep max on the barbell (easier for beginers than dumbells,form wise) and do 8 reps then rest,do that for 5 sets (5 times)

 

also if you want to put muscle on your arms,as strange as it may sound you'd be better working your whole body,either by working different muscle groups on different days or just smashing your whole body every time you train.

I'd be more worried on the food you eat and the rest just as much as training most bodybuilders can get massive gains just from an hour a day in the gym, it's the quality of protein and good food they feed there body that has most effect. When I used to train I found my arms and back was the easiest to gain size. Chest being the most difficult. just concentrate on training hard with correct form and eat, eat and eat again

protein and ethel ester creatine i would do your hole body rather then just biceps and forarms ,curls dumbell press ,dips tricep press,forarm rolls lots of movements for tricep and biceps ,i would get yourself into a gym mate

Never knew that fact about the tricep/ bicep mate but I can quite clearly see it forming now. End of this week I will have been at the gym for a month and going 5 times a week. I've noticed not a massive difference in my bicep but lots in my tricep which overall is making the arm look bigger. Also my chest and back there's a difference as my weights are increasing. Happy days!!!!

Might have something to do with eating properly and a protein drink. Can someone tell me when it's best to drink this by the way. I've been drinking it after. It's a mass protein drink. Cheers.
