EARLY DAYS YET, GOOD LOOK, 8 DAYS I ONCE GOT MINE BACK, WE TOOK TURNS IN GOING BACK AS IT WAS UNDIGGERBLE, AND ONLY THE OLD MARK 1 LOCATOR IN THEM DAYS, MID EIGHTIES, LEZ GEDGE WAS THE ONE THERE FIRST ON THE 8TH DAY, MY OLD DOG DIGGER CAME OUT BY HIMSELF BIT WORSE FOR WEAR BUT OK , GOOD LOOK

Not knocking the lad for trying the spot as its maybe his only type of work BUT it seems there is a contingent of terriermen in this country that want to risk the lives of their so called pride and joy for the sake of proving a point or bravado .There is nothing brave or big about risking the life of a proven worker .There is much said about the staying ability of a terrier and rightly so but to test this to extreme knowing it could go either way shows little respect for these gallant workers ,several hours beneath the turf is test enough for any terrier .I admire the men who dig all day on a deep dig ,usually by default rather than design but to knowingly put a terrier in a bad place just smacks of having little respect for the dogs that give so much .

this site hasnt changed, we are all suppose to be pissing in the same pot and theres still stupid comments coming from so called hunters, the lad made a mistake, everyone does ! terriers die very often from working all types of land, we had one last week die in a dead end ! it happens, its the game and you gotta understand that. to many do gooders that have never made a mistake,

If you use them... you will lose them. No sense in pretending otherwise. I am guilty of my share of mistakes. One thing is certain. I will never forget them. But hindsight will not keep my dogs out of trouble, nor will it help me sleep any easier when I am the casue of it. There is a reason that the best usually die too soon. The lessons I have learned from losing the great dogs, seem to only benifit the dogs that are just good enough. The good ones have a way of borrowing trouble and making their mark on your soul.

Myself and my digging buddy put a good Lakeland in to a place where old timers would not dig,they were afraid of it,but we knew better as we were sixteen.He was dropped in on a sunday morning and was never seen or heard again.A hard lesson for two kids.
