Ideation 8,217
Cheers Rocky mate! She is a good girl, never been any kind of hunting before she met me, and she now enjoys mooching about daytime with the ferrets, and the odd short walk with the lamp. In truth she loves the dog and likes watching him run, and she's even started asking about of she can have a runner herself in the future. Can't complain! Ideation 8,217
Just another wee update. I was at work today, so didn't get a chance to take the dog for a walk before it got dark. Despite the terrible conditions for it (light as day, still and no rain), i decided to go for a wander with the lamp on a different bit of ground by the house, some nice wheat stubbles, again fast rabbits here. Jumped the gate and started off down the hedge row, and knew it wasn't going to be up to much, it was like day light and the sound of my feet squelching through the flooded field sounded painfully loud. Very little about and what was there in the distance, was long gone before it ever got into range. Eventually i lit up a rabbit sat out a little ways from the hedge, and sneaking a long managed to get within slipping distance before he started running. Off went the dog, along the hedge, heading to cut off his retreat. The rabbit turned away from me, the dog behind it, running through the rough at the edge of the field. A couple of strides later and the squeals are music to my ears. Dog, back with rabbit to hand, and a little further on another rabbit is lit up, trying to crawl down a rut toward safety. Again the dog is off and on his tail, and after a turn does the doggy equivalent of a diving forward roll, and comes up with the bunny between his teeth. One more rabbit appears in the beam on the way home, and in feeling sure it's going to be number three, that is until the dog wipes himself out in a gateway filled with water and sticky mud Nice bit of excercise for the mutt Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,217
Still broken are you butty? Not good, i got the kids (tom, and funny welly boy) coming, so at least i got a hand laying nets. Bet Gem and Luna are climbing the wall! To be fair to the little bugger, he suddenly clicked christmas night, and although he hasn't had huge numbers, he catching more than he's missing by far, and his style of running is quite good to watch, different from in the day. His mad cover crashing is a bit 'heart in mouth' though. Quote Link to post
