This is part 2 in the Nite – Hunter IR300 laser illuminator test and review.

In this part I and Davy place a powerful Clulite lamp and IR filter side by side against an IR300 Nite – Hunter laser illuminator to see which gives the best picture through our Sony Handycams.

To give the Clulite a fighting chance against the laser we decide not to turn up the IR300 laser above half brightness and mainly keep the laser on flood or just above.

We then head to some fishing ponds to shoots rats and a couple of my permissions to shoot rabbits.

As you will see from the results, even with the laser turned right down the picture is still very good to say that we was shooting in total darkness.

Si and Davy.

whats it like at long rang and whats it like against N1000 laser ?

Depends what you mean about long range mate.

The lads from Sheffeild shoot foxs up to 300 yards with it easy enough using Sony Handycams and the footage is very bright.

Ive seen it look at a wooden telegraph pole at over 600 yards and illuminate it using the new Nite - Hunter night vision camera (not on sale yet).

They have also done a test to see what is better the N1000 or the IR300 and the IR300 worked out at least twice as good as the N1000.

From what i saw when i went up to Sheffield last week i wouldnt buy any other illuminator except this IR300 at the moment. They are wiorking on the IR500 at the moment so watch this space.

Hi Si

I had a great time out shooting with you,and thanks to you & LJ for putting me up

and feeding me to,had a great time!

would like to add to this, after seeing this laser and comparing it with the N1000 ( WHICH I HAVE) it is so much clearer.no water marks on the footage and crystal clear! I shall be getting one very soon.

it is a great bit of kit,for any NV unit or enthusiast

well worth the money!

regards

Davy
