Marvin 193
I get highly amused with agnostics and atheists when you ask what they do for Christmas, surely they shouldn't partake in any celebrations if they feel the need to opt out of Christianity, that said most of my Muslim friends exchange presents on Christmas day, wouldn't this piss off Allah, I myself opted out of Christianity and realised the true way to a better life is finding it within yourself and not praying for a break or begging up enough credit to make it to heaven, but if Santy doesn't drop me owt off tonight, i dare say ill not be best pleased lol. Best wishes to all however you are spending the holidays. Stay safe dudes

Stay safe dudes get your point, but i suspect most parents who got our thier way for xmas celebrations,do so for thier kids regardless of whether they believe it or not. unlike less tolerant religions this is not considered blasphemy or sinfull. same as easter and other halloween.its done for fun,and bringing family and friends just that wee bit closer, even if it is just for one day. so i wouldnt exactly find a day where everyone is just that bit nicer and charitable amusing. i would say its good thing surely.no need to not celebrate xmas imo.you can still enjoy the day and bring a bit joy to somebody without feeling guilty, its a time to be happy just that bit more than normal.as for the link, well the christ killers always are a misraeble lot lol

There are alot of things in this country that find their origin in religion, does that mean we do away with most of our traditions and culture?
TOMO 28,500
but you could argue that christmas time ,, has been adopted by christianity,,, cos befor christmas i think it was a pagan celabration at this time of year,, after all christ was born in october. im aithiest,, but ile celabrate it anyway even if im contradicting my belifes ,, i love crimbo
scothunter 12,609
oh and if the true religious folk who celebrate xmas solely through religion,do you honestly believe you are doing so on that exact day only in 2011? if so you really are gullible. foxfan 479
Peace on earth, goodwill to all men. God knows we could do with some of that at the moment. Merry Christmas all.
turtlehead 7
christianity robbed the date from the pagan winter solstice.i was brought up with christianity but ditched it in favour of the much more believable atheism.if god exists he's doing a shit job of promoting peace and respect to all.does a great job of collecting money of idiots though. reddawn 2,173
who cares if crimbo aint exactly what you were told, you have all had your shots of being happy as kids at crimbo, bet yous all loved it aswell, aye crimbo loses its appeal the older you get, but if you cant put a happy face on it an be merry for a week or 2 for the sake of kids then you really are a sad individual imo.... as far as religion goes, id rather be a decent person than a bad christian/muslim/sikh/jew or budhist
