swarmcatcher 15
I have been trying to feed the ferrets with squirrels that I've been catching, but they don't seem to have much interest in eating them, they just drag them into the nesting area (as soon as i give it to them). I was expecting them to leave them outside with the kibble and rip into it, but they just drag into the nest area. Is this normal behaviour? (i'm guessing it is having read an earlier post about rabbit skins) If so is there something I should do to encourage them to eat the squirrel, and should i be tying it to something outside the bedding area for improved hygiene? swarmcatcher 15
Good advice all thanks. I had cut them open before and pulled out there guts just leaving the meat and goodies, but i hadn't removed the kibble which i did last night to try and force them onto it. SUCCESS - just got back now to find that they have demolished the last squirrel, bones and all just leaving the jacket. They appear to be doing it in the bedding box which cant be the best spot, any suggestions ie wirethe leg to a fixed spot? Quote Link to post
