The ground I run is mostly short grazed grass - very fast going. If the dog's not fast enough the rabbits straight line it and dive straight into ground without ever turning. Quote Link to post
KittleRox 2,147
This is my mongrel, 1/2 collie, 1/4 bull, 1/4 grey, not your typical looking lurcher I think you,ll agree, couldn,t catch a hare running backwards but when it comes to the humble bunny she takes more than her fair share, follows them into cover/hedges, runs clever and as tough as old boots, a joy to work The brindle Edited November 23, 2011 by KittleRox 1 Quote Link to post

keepitcovert 842
One of the best dogs i ever saw didnt resemble what everyones idea of a lurcher should look like, it was collie blooded no doubt about that, but in shape it didnt look as if it had a great turn of speed. Then again it didnt draw the attention of every keeper just the sort of dog the old school poachers needed, believe me that dog was a first class pot filler, intelligent did not trust strangers but as previously stated handsome is as handsome does. 2 Quote Link to post
