I like the post on the christmas tree for trafalgar square coming from Norway, but it made me a little gutted.

This year for the first time ( what I can remember) there will be no christmas lights in the city centre ( Exeter), not a big thing in the grand scheme of things I know, but still a bit sad. The kids like going up to watch the fire works and some Z lister hitting the button. I know christmas is a bit of a commercial rip off, but when you got young kids you've got to play the game and make it exiting, our city centre gonna look pretty crap this christmas.....

Wilf : I agree exeter's worse than a piss hole, but it aint a bad part of the world to live in

Scot : loads of fire work displays on nov 5th, but they used to do a big display off the top of debenhams when they turned the christmas lights on, F*ck all this year though

Littlefish: Normally there's a christmas tree, don't know this year think tere's no money in the kitty, the goverments got beter things to spend it's money on :hmm:

Long tail: Forget the posh areas mate the council estates are the best place for decent decorations, most of the families are skint but their houses look like santas grotto on acid.

Could be worse,in the Philippines christmas begings with what are known as BER-months,I jest not, everyone puts their trees and decorations up in septemBER :icon_eek: MOA(mall of asia)the biggest shopping centre in the country has a f*ck-off sequoia of a chrimbo tree up,covered in artificial snow and decorations up in septemBER,shop assistants dressed as christmas elves in septemBER,and everyone was wishing me happy christmas in septemBER,I enjoy christmas as much as anyone but they were really pushing it  and snow world (which is really a giant fridge a bit like X-cape in Milton Keynes except not as good) is packed with people who buy warm coats for the occassion(Manila dwellers never need coats except waterproofs in the wet-season) to walk around and pretend to be in a winter environment
