You say "leave the hares for you guys"; Well, I'd far rather course a daytime hare, than any other field sport... BUT, I was invited, a couple of years ago to shoot goose on the 1st of sept. I enjoyed

Sorry lads been feeding dogs, ferrets and hanging my pheasants. I see this thread has rattled a few people especially labtastic. Lets get a few things straight I'm not some arsehole with an unruly do

I collected 9 pheasants this morning. 5 cocks and 4 hens. Lot's of road kill this year.

I get your drift Lab, but road runners will always be taken by dogs on walks or general mooching in the country.

If your purposely hunting dogs near shoots then.....

exactly what I'm getting at!!!

I hope dan reads this and revokes your invite stewie.... Lol

lol why tho??? am i wrong mate??? if pheasants had any brains would they be any use on a shoot?? ive told you before i did a year studying keeping at collage after beating and helping out on a shoot since i was 7!! im not saying its not hard work mate far from it BUT when you compare a reared pheasant to a wild grouse, they really are as thick as a gers fan :thumbs:

is this where you think you've learned something... A year 'in' college?? Pmsl.. Lol

Chart..... I hope you never misunderstood me mate, I never argue about another mans chosen sport. But this isn't sport, especially killing poults that can't fly strongly.

why not?

Assuming it's in season and they're adults.

taking anything with a dog is far more sporting than shooting it imo

i'd never go onto someone elses land and take what's theirs.

but if i bought 10,000 chickens and released them i wouldn't complain when people killed them off my land.

The people who are so against a Lurcher taking the odd pheasant... would be happy to see your dogs taking corvids, but the origional question was about taking "FEATHER"; to a Lurcher owner, feather is feather, don't make much difference what type it is. If it's edible; all the better !

Cheers.
