skycat 6,174
I run mine on a 10 mile bike ride round a reservoir/fishing lake: just bought one of these, and it really takes the shock out of the jerk when they lunge at a squirrel. The beauty of these attachments is that your hands are free and if the dog lunges it isn't jerking your hands, and therefore your steering, plus the jerk comes from under your centre of gravity which reduces the shock: I know I sound like an advert for these things, and I was dead sceptical before I tried it, but it really works. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Trixie-1283-Biker-Set-Dog-Lead/dp/B0009585G2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1320220215&sr=8-6 Mine is actually the Walky Dog, but very similar. You can't get the Springer in the UK, even though it is made in Norway: go figure!

The only time i get a prob with him, is when he sees a (squirrel). If he sees anything else cat, rabbit etc....... he as good luck but will still trot ok with me. But them tree-rats, he goes feckin mad . you have to stop the bike, and walk past where he seen it (slow) lol

Ratreeper 441
if it is illegal then I have even more reason to be a grumpy bugger about horses, although I wouldn't try it on a busy road it's just common sense as it's tricky to stop. I genuinely don't know if it is or not bud, I was thinking they might say you're not in full control of the bike or something? I used to walk my rottie on the bike quite often. I never had any problems controlling the bike as he would just get in 'the zone' and ignore everything else, which is something I couldn't replicate on foot to the same standard. Much more fun off lead though, I never even considered people would think it was cruel...maybe if you are trying to get a dog sprinting in the sun mile after mile but I would always take lots of breaks and only go a bit quicker than walking for the most part. I used to rely on my bike to try and tire out my old pointer, I just didn't have the stamina to run with him far enough. Bloody hell do I miss it, wish I didn't have to wait to get dogs again

Bloody hell do I miss it, wish I didn't have to wait to get dogs again why do you have to wait pal? Because I work 9-6 and have to drive miles on the A14 to cambridge city centre and back (2-3 hours, usually the latter) as I couldn't find a local job. But soon I hope to move house and get a dog walker in 4 days a week (the mrs is off on monday), go lamping at night and all will be rosey. My rotties got cancer and died earlier this year, I have been becoming progressively crazier every day since I f*****g hate life without dogs.
skycat 6,174
What you need is someone on your route to work so you can drop the dog off there and pick it up again in the evening!

B.P.R 2,798
I have been walking to pup next to the bike on and off since shes been allowed to walk. The muscle is slowly coming back in her leg so it's working. Don't really have any problems, only that when cycling on pavements she's pretty close to the bike and I'm worried Of her going under it. Let her off on a country lane last night and kept whistling her and she stayed with me. Sh.t it when a car came flying down the road (unusual as it's a dead end) and I shone the torch on the dog. I had lights on my bike aswell but they were going so fast they took ages to stop. Won't be letting her off like that again. One guy did say that Its a lazy way to walk a dog and I get some funny looks.

That would be ideal, I would happily pay someone to do so. But how many people would you trust to not only look after your dogs, but spend more time with them than you do?
