wuyang 513
Yes, seen the litter you was on about in the other thread. Unfortunately i dont know much about them other than there was another litter on the go afew weeks ago,,,something like beardie collie/ greyhound x picardy greyhound. I read the picardy supposed to have good prey drive and guarding instinct, other than that i really dont know that much. I know there was plenty of good praise for the beardie/picardy litter. So they definitely sound promising. I sure somebody on here will know. Edited November 1, 2011 by wuyang Quote Link to post

Irish Lurcher 1,013
Strange you mention this breed, I was only looking into different breeds that might cope with the other more common used types and found the Picardy. By all accounts they are well up for the job, they have all the characteristics required, most loyal dog I am told, would love to hear if anyone have ran one of these x's. Quote Link to post

trenchfoot 4,243
I have noted these crosses before and seem interesting, if not fully tested as a type. Their shaggy coat maybe too much, but I have wondered about a Beauceron x as an alternative. Not breeding just thinking about it. Anybody know if its been done before? Quote Link to post

ossetthunters 16
Thanks everyone. The litter i may be accuiring a pup from is actually deerhound / greyhound x picardy / greyhound both parents work, The dam : deerhound / greyhound is a cracking dog and the sire picardy / greyhound i am told has a high prey drive and will gladdly work all day not to mention been v loyal, The dam takes all quarry i am told also the pups are now 10 week old and from a litter of 10 there is only 3 left. Anyway arranged to go out for a mooch with the breeder this weekend to see the parents in action, but to be honest think im going to go with my instinct and purchase one of the pups this litter i believe is the 3rd generation and the breeder says he is very happy with the line at the moment...... but still would like to hear your opinions any to anyone who may have seen any in the field. bunnys 1,236
ITS NOT a coincidence that the alsation the mallinois and the pickardy type produce much similiar tuypes ,and usually fair pretty much the same in the field .A GOOD splash of coursing dog and or deerhound type can only go on to improve the types . atb bunnys.
