out with my pup lamping

Recommended Posts

i had been sat in the house all evening looking forward to leaving the house for a few hours lamping with the pup. when the time come for me to leave the house to go and lamp a few rabbits i opened the door to leave the house and much to my disapointment the wind had stopped along with the rain,

i eventually got to my destination and started my lamping session as the night went on the cloud cleared and the moon came out making the night crap and hard work for the pup as hes only 7 and 3/4 months old. all in all i was pleased with the outcome of the night the pup managed to get another 9 rabbits under his belt bringing his total upto 66 rabbits so far. i am more than happy with his progress and look forward to see what the future holds with him.

Looks like you had a good night , we are lucky to see a hand full of rabbits , took my youngster out last night she is now 15mth , found a few more pockets of rabbits , they have been noted for another night ;) but all in all really pleased with her she did a good run with lots of turns , and retrieved live back to hand , she did not make the same mistake as last time dropping the rabbit as soon as she caught it  this time i had to prize it out of her mouth

Nice one ,, you got to keep at them , even if its hust to keep the dogs fit, for a better night

i like to try and keep the dogs somewhere near as you never know when you might just get the perfect conditions and the oppertunity to catch a decent bag. the weather was looking good early on in the night but went dead still and clear when i left the house i was going to try for his first 20 rabbits but the weather let me down.
