walshie 2,804
Hi James, Most FEOs don't like a gap behind cabinets die to the risk of crowbars You could cut the skirting board, or you could put wood the same thickness as the skirting board between the cabinet and the wall,(just round the edges) so no room for a crowbar. Cheers. Quote Link to post

Cheers though mate Fenton Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
i had the bright idea of standing the cabinit on an empty quality street tin to raise it above the skirting board whilst i marked, drilled and bolted it to the wall, trouble is when id finished i remebered i hadnt taken it out. its stuck solid and has been there for over 6 years now. Could have been worse - it could have been a FULL quality street tin. My missus would have killed me had I done that with a full tin! She loves her Quality Street. Glad the OP has solved the problem. In my last house I mounted the cabinet above the skirting board, but in the current house I cut the skirting board away so I can not only bolt the cabinet to the wall but screw it into the floor joists using coach bolts. In my experience, each FEO is different. In my last house the inspector never once asked to see my cabinet or guns in the 10 years I lived there. In the new house, the new FEO was knocking on my door straight away and wanted to inspect the cabinet and check each of my guns himself. Edited November 21, 2011 by jackinbox99 Quote Link to post
