I never like to have a pop at a fighter but Haye has gone right down in my estimations.....just approaching his peak,at the top of his division......he,s treated the sport thats made him rich very bad

the toe must have been worse than we thought

If size didn't matter there wouldn't be weight division!

Now your just taking things to extremes.....theres 4 lb difference between most divisions .........in the heavyweight division there can be 4 stone !

If weight was a massive issue in a prizefight Haye would have never been allowed to fight Valuev.....infact there would be no heavyweight division at all !

I know he fought Bowe 3 times that's why I said in the five fights against Lewis & Bowe he won 1 drew 1 lost 3, I think a lot of fighters bottled it against Tyson, reason he got beat by Buster Douglas was Douglas had the death of his mother on his mind so Tyson could not get in his head. At 37 Holyfield still had plenty left, look at B-Hop 46 years old and in another title fight on Saturday, puts Chad Dawson in a no win situation beats Hopkins and in years to come people will say yeah but Hopkins was 46, no matter how well he fights.

You must have seen Holyfield as a cruiserweight.....i followed his career real close and he never fought in the heavyweight division the way he fought the likes of Dwight Qawi or Tillman in the cruiserweight division his style completely changed overnight id say he was a little past his best when he fought Bowe,a good bit past his best when he fought Tyson, washed up when he fought Lewis............and a dead man walking over recent years sadly.

Hopkins is a different man........just like we cant generalise on size we cant generalise on age either.

hight, reach, weight , all contributing factors , to maximise punching power it is far harder for a tall boxer punching down , shorter heavey weights eg tyson made the most of this fact , i agree with gnasher size at heavey weight is not a over welming factor , AN EVEN OLDER SAYING A GOOD BOXER WILL ALLWAYS BEAT A GOOD FIGHTER , HAYE WAS NITHER ,BUT WAS A GOOD TALKER :whistling:

Yeah but can you really see a fighter under 16 stone becomming undisputed heavyweight champion again? I just can't see it.

Wonder if the reason Holyfield looked better as a cruiserweight was because a lot of the guys where shorter than him?

Probably no time soon no....but the human race is getting bigger, simple !......70/80 years ago fighters like Carnera and Willard were seen as freaks of nature and they were 6ft 5..........6ft 5 fighters like Bowe or Lewis were the norm 20 years ago.........today 6ft 8 heavyweights is not that unusual......ive felt for a number of years there needs to be a super heavyweight division, maybe at 235 lb............anything over 200lb is a heavyweight yet very few heayweights are under the 220 region.....its too much variation the sport needs to make adjustments to compensate for the adjustments in the human race in my opinion.

Holyfield as a light heavy and cruiserweight was what we used to call a box-fighter....he would box his way in........but when he moved up to heavyweight he became a counter puncher to utilise his speed......in my opinion the reason he looked so much better at cruiserweight was because he was fighting his normal natural style of fighting.........................but of course he knew he couldnt do that at heavyweight and made the necessary adjustments......he is a perfect example of why there needs to be that extra division.....just my opinion like.
