garfield 23
it wont let me as a seller it will only let me open a dispute, done that and making a claim with the small claims court as he entered a binding contract with his winning bid got to love the power of google investigations
kenny14 656
ebay are keen to stress their 'buyer protection', but there is no such thing as 'seller protection' with them. A seller has to rely on the buyer being honest. I did some research, and was amazed how many sellers had been scammed, and ebay just simply weren't interested. In this case all the buyer has to say is that the item is 'not as described' ie not what he expected, especially as he'd not seen it before buying. IMO ebay could be a goldmine for unscrupulous people to make fortunes.

rob190364 2,594
My ma inherited this collectable ornament that she didn't want so I sold it to her on ebay for her, it was immaculate, no marks or anything. This tw't won it and when he received it he sent a message saying it was damaged and badly repaired, it was utter b'llocks and he opened a case on paypal and got him money back. I was livid, the cowardly b*****d gave his work address for delivery so I couldn't find out where he lived. He basically got an quid ornament for nothing and we paid 15 quid to post it for him. Looking at his purchase history he'd bought loads of these things so you can guarantee if we'd have paid the postage to get it sent back he'd have sent an identical damaged one back that he already had...little shit bag, I hope it fell of the shelf and fractured his skull! What sort of sad b*****d bloke collects ornaments anyway!!! I thought it was just old women that did that! Ebay literally offers the seller absolutely nothing in the way of protection. All you can do is check the feedback of the buyer and keep your fingers crossed. It used to let the seller give the buyer feedback but you can only leave positive now...I think it's because people use to leave you negative feedback if you left them negative. garfield 23
the worst thing is that he 1. didnt ask any questions 2.never came to see the bike before winning the auction 3. has a good healthy feedback as a good buyer. so all the signs were there that the transaction would go through but he took one look at it and said "nah dont want it mate" and left i was gobsmacked as i've waited a week for him to turn up and a grand isnt exactly pocket money for me that was gonna pay for me to go visit my kids at christmas

A messer probably wouldn't agree to that though unfortunately.

Mooch. 177
Similar sort of thing happened to me selling a coffee machine of all things. Buyer claims it wouldn't heat water but it works fine now we've got it back and the buyer kept the coffee sachets. Regarding your bike Garfield, keep it secure and keep a close eye on it, the feckwit might be back.
