wood storing

Recommended Posts

I have a vast ammount of timber cut and its really unsightly stacked in the 1 ton rubbish sacks out the back.Is there any handy method of storing it nice and dry.I was looking at the timber sheds this morn and they bloody well cost a fortune for even the smalller ones.Anyone think up a unique way of storing the timber dry.Got a bit of time on my hands and doing too much thinking :icon_redface:

Log shed/stores are easy to knock together, just google or ebay 'em and take a design from there. Though you could simply take time out and stack 'em correct, can look quite smart if done right and they weather good too. There is a few vids on youtube showing how to do it correct.

Same thing as me Stealthy, big canvas sack full to the top,4 sling attachments on the corners for lifting. The top layer of timber must be damp though due to rain and mist.I should have covered them I suppose.

I just used my old outside toilet!

The piles of logs go up into the pitched roof, so about 8 foot high

Took the door off, and stacked my wood in there.

Mostly Oak and Ash in there, with a bit of Beech, been a busy summer cutting all that!

The logs are 4 layers deep, there's plenty of airflow around them all so it should be ok.

The big Oak rounds at the front are part of a haul I got late last night! :whistling:

Not looking forward to trying to chop those, near killed me getting them in the truck!!!! :icon_redface:
