you need the whole house rewired

I hope thats a joke. Its a very old house i'm in and i did get some electrical work done at the start. Cant be anything as bad as that as the rest of the house is fine.... :hmm:

 

just messing mate.im sure its a minor prob.cause if it aint you better dig deep.lol

Just checked the dimmer and theres no blackness around switch(could still be f****d for all i know) that still doesn't expalin why the switch in the kitchen is also f****d?

Theres another 2 lights in the living room and they are fine. All the other lights bedrooms/bathrooms/kitchen and hall are all working. Its just this b*****d in the middle..... :censored:

tbh mate i would see if you get a spark,ive seen the results of messing with electricity.its not worth it.also if your going away at the weekend.you dont wanna leave the girl with dodgy sockets.

I'm a sparky and it could be anything. Impossible to say without a test meter. Could be faulty mcb, faulty switch, faulty light, or even a loose conection on the live or neutral.

 

i think you should nip up to scotland and have a wee look mate lol

Drop the light down from the ceiling and see if any wires are loose, other than that you'll need a sparky to look at it. Cheers

Went to switch the living room light on last night and 'pop' goes 1 of the bulbs. I have one of the small chandelier type things with 5 bulbs. So anyway 4 of the bulbs are fine and i swapped the burst bulb. Went through to fuse box and clicked up the breaker switch and tried light and f**k all???? All the others are working but the main light is fecked.......any ideas... :hmm:
