I know its not what you wana hear david but is there any chance the dog could of got onto something abit bigger off the lamp n then ran further afield with it maybe resultin in him striking in the dark n snappin his neck or gettin hung up on wire etc, i hope not mate but iv known that to happen, maybe widen your search abit from were you was, checking all fence lines etc.

I hope he turns up alive n well tho mate,still time yet atb
