TBH i see a lot of swaping and selling on of dog not up to the grade just make a quick buck out of breeding! ATB I think prices are variable, im planning on breeding a litter in the spring, i'll be keeping one, mates are having some and any spare pups will be sold, im not gonna charge the earth but im not selling them for peanuts, hopefully a price gives them some value in the eyes of the buyer as unfortunately pups are disposable tools to many idiots and if i dont think the potential buyers warrents a pup i wont sell them one. I have paid between £125-£150 for a terrier pups, £180-£300 for lurchers and hell of a lot more for my shepherds, all this "working mans prices" shite makes me chuckle, most will piss and moan at paying £150-200 for a well bred pup but are happy to piss as much money away on ale in a few sessions................ lancer 13
so if you sell pups for big prices do you think that will stop them ending up with idiots, or will it just give puppy pedlers a pay rise and idiots will still buy them.

And good look with the litter and the way you have explained why your breeding will make the pups worth every penny in my eyes, i will just give you one example of what am trying to say! (badly) "for sale first x beddy/whippets £275 dogs £300bitches" then updated 2weeks later to say! "also for sale a beddy bitch 18months old, just had a litter of pups £250 and a whippet dog 3years old £250" makes buying dog a bit of a lottery! ATB
Simoman 110
so if you sell pups for big prices do you think that will stop them ending up with idiots, or will it just give puppy pedlers a pay rise and idiots will still buy them. Peddlers will peddle aslong as folk buy there wares, big prices dont mean they will ALWAYS be appreciated, juts look as the rescue centres for pedigree dogs............. ATB I think USUALLY folk who are breeding a litter to keep something back are doing it because they like what they are keeping and want something similar, if not better. Only trouble is the breeders standard of dog may be higher or lower than that of a potential purchaser, i like to think my dogs wouldn't let me down in ANY company and suit me down to the ground. The advert you have mentioned about the beddy/whippets is shocking, the breeder can charge any price he likes BUT he has to sell them, some lads would pay that, most wont but selling the parents after is the trademark of a messer and pleb......... boyo 1,398
i think if someone rears a litter correctly and with no expence spared with the pups welfare coming before the cost of rearing then they are entitled to ask whatever price they see fit .but it doesnt gaurantee to give the pup a good home theres plenty of tossers out there with money to burn .
