Though it was written in days gone by when lurchers were a rareity (at least by todays standards!!). These days why bother, starting from scratch to breed sommat with over two breeds in it would seem a waste of time and effort to me. Most folks 'ideal' dog is already out there and constantly available, it's just simply folk don't do enough with 'em to see if it is or could be 'the one', they never give there dogs the opportunity and think that whats in it must make it... Which is true but you'll only find that out when it has done enough... Sadly, very few really do....! Quote Link to post

Rabbiting man 1,192 Posted August 31, 2011 Report Share Posted August 31, 2011 Its nice to get your own line im not a big breeder i.ve got a 3/4 Greyhound 1/4 Collie 11 months old one day I like to stud him out when hes 5 or 6 years old to a good working Collie/Greyhound or Deerhound/Greyhound bitch and have the pick of the litter it be dog anyway only keep lurcher dogs Quote Link to post

whin 463 Posted September 1, 2011 Report Share Posted September 1, 2011 top class workers to worker weather colie type saluk type etc i always look for better and go out my way to find good dogs who further a new pup , and see dogs that have produced there self in there ofspring , when you have had dogs a for a few decades you get to know what to throw in to get better stock its a sceince but not to hard if you have acses to good workers bred of good dogs , Quote Link to post
