B.P.R 2,798
What does everyone do with their dogs when they're away? Ive just dropped The dogs at the mother in laws with a set if instructions. The labs dieting so don't overfeed her or give her treats. Make sure the pup sleeps in the cage and gets her different food. Feed them at the right times. Loads of stuff. On the way the airport and she rings me, the pups pining for you, the dogs looked hungry so I fed them. I'm dreading coming back to a fat whippet that won't go in the cage and an obese lab! And to top it all off, the b*****d that's looking after my ferrets has put them up for sale! Haha Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
I bung mine in the local kennels, the lad who owns the kennels races greyhounds, so I think their fairly safe, plus it makes them appreciate what they have when I get back 1 Quote Link to post

littlefish 598
Kennels for mine too - I also leave a supply of food for them. That way I know they are securely locked in and not ramdomly fed fed on rubbish by well meaning friends/relatives. It is a big responsibility to leave them with people who might let them loose. Spot on!!!................always friends or family members who feed the dogs when were away. Simple biscuits in a bowl and a quick walk if there not busy. Never been away for more than a long weekend since having the dogs and its very rarely we are both away together. Quote Link to post
mudd dog 128
Usually when I'm going away one of my mates I dig with will keep the dogs for me or just cone round toons and sort them out. Then I'd repay the favour when they go away. Quote Link to post
J.DOG 1,355
Lol I don't even go on holiday anymore I haven't gone in years Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Under a week and i'll ask one of my mates to call round, same set-up, same food and a walk round the block, easy enough. Anything over a week and I wouldn't ask anyone, we all have our own lives and I see it as too much for someone to call round for that long. So my dogs go to a local greyhound kennels, I know the bloke well so it costs buttons. Quote Link to post
