Yes Sals do have long feet.......and my advice would be, Feck all the backyard experts and stick the dog behind as much tackle as you can point him at next season.......that way you will really know the score

thanks will; i got the pup (5 months old) to do a purpose when he is mature, he had a shit start and maybe with time his feet may turn good, the thought of ditching him for something else at an early stage without persevering with him seems a bit shallow; yes maybe i should say :censored: and hold tight

Never had anything with saluki in, but I have seen a lot of saluki crosses in the area where I live, and been out with loads, the boys who got first crossers in particular had lots of problems with feet injuries, and the same lads rarely if ever went for three quarter breds of this type

Yep! agree with you there. sylus Inca (as you know ) hasnt had the best start in life  . But now she has you to put 100% into him. you see how well he will come on.

Pups need a good diet to help there bones develop properly. I have had dogs in where they have been right down back on elbows...but have amazingly come good. So a couple of flat feet aint gonna be a prob. ;)

Good to see the guy's on here are looking after you :victory:

The biggest lesson ive learned through having dogs is.........patience. Physically and mentally they will only develop at their own rate, be it flat feet, obedience or owt.

Very, very few dogs are 100% perfect, if the only problems you encounter are slightly flat feet then you will have been blessed :D

Now chill out and enjoy your dog for the positives he has brought, not the negatives, and concentrate on getting him trained and ready for next season :good:

one of my pups feet looks bad at the moment

one of his toes is definatly longer than the others

he got a little slice between the pads about 2mm wide .

just last week noticed one toe is not sitting right.

my stupid fault for not getting him to the vet.

i think i know everything some times :(

even at that he runs rings around other dogs

while still being a pup and only seen a myxi or two.

have seen saluki types with feet like a duck and

be able to run the same speed on most types of land.

and get little injurys.

does not matter what they look like esecially at

the young age he is.

put up a picture for us to see ... however if the dog is down on his feet then road work will soon cure that problem .............

just fetch the pup up as normal mate and enter it to it's chosen quarry as you would, when he's of age you can try him and i'm sure you'll soon tell if he's up to the job in hand,i wouldn't get rid cause you might regret it,see it through and try and ignore the negative responses, let us know how he gets on.
