Does anyone rock the beam

This mite come across a bit dumb it could be a abit of mine to honest it is a abit i.ve always done it when im lamping rabbits what it is when im lamping I turn lamp on and far out in the field I can see somethink in the beam I cant see the glow of rabbit eyes and I dont want to send the dog cuz mite not be anythink so I rock the beam I dont no why I do it think it dumb abit but I do it when the rabbit run for the edge of the field then I do rock the beam so I can put the rabbit off a little for my dog can catch does anyone do the same

I do. The type of land I lamp on is small fields, and I find it causes the rabbits to loose their well used runs back to safety. Keeping the rabbit in the field is half the battle when they're never far from the hedge IMO.

always done it,always find it helps to keep the bunny or long ears in the field insted of bolting straight into cover

only do it with young dogs, as when they are on 3-4th season they will take them any way in any form. Sometimes it will slow the rabbit and somtimes it dont, better on a real dark+windy night

yea i do it if a rabbit is heading for the ditch shake the lamp it takes em off the ditch n they turn back out. Another one i use is if u spot a rabbit runnin before u slip ur dog, put beam in front of his path he sometimes stop n squat

Aye, it makes it more difficult for the rabbit to judge the jump through the fencing when running, so they often turn. At least that's my take.
