Hi all, is it possible to fit a tx200 with a silencer and is it worth it in terms of noise reduction ?

Thanks for any replies. ff

Yes its possible mate, but as with any spring powered rifle, they make minimal difference, most of the noise is from the spring and not the air leaving the barrel, maybe 5/10% noise reduction but is it worth it for the extra weight and length it will add to your rifle, certainly makes the gun look abit better, but i personally think silencers on springers arnt worth the money for the difference they make

Peter, I agree completely.

I once had a HW95K and had it fitted with a silencer - total waste of time. To be perfectly honest, there wasn't really much muzzle crack in the first place anyway.

Threading the 95K and fitting a silencer was one decision I regretted until I sold the rifle.

Cheers

What the shooter hears and what the quarry hears are two very different things.

If you've a mate with a moderated springer, stand down range from him in a safe place and get them to shoot a few shots with the mod fitted. Then do the same with the mod off and you'll really notice the difference.

Hi Foxfan.

A good tune can reduce the noise made by the action.

My HW95 was noisey to cock and fire until I had it tuned by Tony Wall Sandwell field sports.

Its now very smooth to shoot, and very quiet too.

The tune cost me £70......worth every penny for the performance I now have.

Just a thought.

Bill.
