SO ARE RED KITES MILLET ....... YET I WATCHED A HEN BIRD TAKE ALMOST A FULL CLUTCH OF QUAIL SIZED PHEASENTS FROM A ROAD SIDE A FEW YRS AGO ....... ANYTHING WITH A HOOKED BEAK AINT A VEGGIE

Here's another shot, they hang around this house all the time, its like somthing out of Alfred Hitchcocks "The Birds" these birds are true Scavengers, they have very little or no prey drive, you can fly them like raptors but only cos they're food motovated ( kinda like myself :D )

Must be great to be able to photograph them, Im so envious

 

Hey Bill, any time you want a holiday load up you camera's and come on over, there's loads of stuff to capture out here, even if you have dodgey inferior Nikon equipment :p

My womans from Ottawa,only been there once and didnt see any,but if I visit in warmer weather I will keep my eye open for them,they look purty :)

Yeah I think they bugger off down south when it gets cold, wish I could do the same

When I visited it was -35,not my idea of fun,I phoned earlier today and its 36 or 37 degrees,bit of a scorcher :thumbs:

 

I hear yer, it's the only country that can be both ends of the scale it's the same hear it feels like 50 degree's C with the Humedex !!! :diablo:

and yet in 5 months time it'll be -35 degree's C !!! :o

I lived there for a few years and I never saw owt as ugly as that bird!
